Junior Rangers Project Kicked Off
Ayb School and WWF-Armenia created the second project together called “Junior Rangers.” Now, the first stage of the three-month working has kicked off.
Junior Rangers is for developing ecotourism in specially protected areas. This project is also aimed to make students love nature and take care of it with self-development.
On February 25, Ayb School students, participants of Junior Rangers, traveled to Vayots Dzor, where the teams, which had been created in advance, Ecotourism, Research team, Community-Based team, started their planned work. When everyone from Ayb arrived, they were joined by the students from Areni and Khachik communities to get acquainted with them and work together. After knowing each other, each team went to the areas where they had to actualize their ideas and thoughts. The Research team was researching in the Gnishik landscape, while Ecotourism and Community-Based teams were in Eghegnadzor, at the schools of Areni and Khachik villages, respectively.
Everyone worked purposefully and discussed on how to solve some specific problems related to nature and the surroundings. As a result, all the teams were happy as they did a great job. They came back home to have more ideas for getting ready for the next visit with an overnight stay.
